Learn and develop based on the latest science.

Every month, Learning Scout scans the latest science on learning, behaviour and performance. You get a short selection for your practice, and for every paper, a clear view of how strong the evidence is.

How it works

Using research starts with finding it

You want your learning design grounded in science. But first you have to find the right research, weigh it and translate it. The scout does that groundwork for you.

Scouts.

Each month the scout scans thousands of new publications, via OpenAlex and Crossref and directly from leading universities such as Harvard and MIT. Duplicates go, and every paper gets a theme.

Filters.

Anything not useful to people who design learning is dropped. What remains is assessed twice over: the study itself, and the evidence as a whole.

Science.

You get a short selection, each paper with what it means for your practice and a link to the research itself.

The labels

Four labels we never add up

A study can be highly relevant yet methodologically weak. Or excellently run and barely useful. So there is no overall grade: you see exactly where a paper is strong and where it isn't.

Study Credibility
How methodologically sound is this particular study?
Body of Evidence Confidence
How strong and consistent is the research on this topic taken together?
Relevance Score
How applicable are the findings for L&D professionals?
Assessment Confidence
How sure is Learning Scout of its own judgement? An abstract alone gives less certainty than the full publication.

Where we are

Honest about our status

Learning Scout is in development. There is a working prototype with a database of over 15,000 research records. The assessments have not yet been externally validated. The work is done by AI, which is why every paper shows how confident its assessment is.
